Analyze your text →What it shows
- Words — the full length of the passage, particles and all.
- Content words — the nouns, verbs, and adjectives that actually carry meaning and that you would look up.
- Unique words — how many different words appear, each counted once. This is the real number of things to learn.
- Lexical variety — unique words over total words, telling you whether the text repeats friendly vocabulary or keeps reaching for new ones.
- Top words and every kanji — ranked, with readings, so you know where to start.
How to read the numbers
A passage of three hundred words built from a hundred unique ones is, in truth, only a hundred things to learn — the rest is repetition, and repetition is how memory is built. A low lexical-variety score means gentle, familiar ground; a high one means richer language and a steeper climb. Neither is better. They suit different moments in your study, and seeing the numbers first lets you pick material that matches where you are.
Who it's for
Learners choosing their next reading, teachers checking whether a text fits a class, and anyone mining their favorite anime, song, or article for the vocabulary worth memorizing. Pair it with the built-in furigana and frequency views to go from "what is this" to "I can read this."
